Land on ancient glacier ice!
A Bucketlist Experience

See the stunning Chugach Mountain range from above as you fly past snow-capped peaks and over the braided river valleys before landing on more than 300 feet of glacier ice! You’ll experience deep blue pools, swirling moulins, gaping crevasses, and dramatic ice formations as you step out of the helicopter and onto the surface of mighty Knik Glacier.

Knik Glacier is one of the largest glaciers remaining in Southcentral Alaska, stretching 26 miles in length and six miles across at its toe.

This adventure also includes plenty of time to look for wildlife, towering waterfalls, iceberg-filled lakes, and the vast, untouched wilderness of Alaska!

SUMMER FLIGHTS: WHAT TO EXPECT

As warmer weather arrives, snow melts away and exposes glacier ice, allowing Outbound’s expert pilots to land on a glacier’s surface among brilliant blue melt pools and deep crevasses. During the summer months, guests are welcome to take a “polar plunge” into one of the giant pools for a truly unique experience!

WINTER FLIGHTS: WHAT TO EXPECT

Take a flight into Alaska’s snowy wilderness and experience a winter wonderland of giant ice formations, ice caves, and frozen waterfalls. Depending on snow depth, you may land on the glacier itself. But if conditions don’t allow, your expert pilot will settle the helicopter either at the glacier’s terminus near an ice wall, on the shoreline of an iceberg-filled lake, or in a gorge to explore ice caves. Each opportunity allows for up-close experiences among the beautiful, blue ice!

“One of the best experiences of our lives.”

“We did a glacier landing adventure, and unlike some other companies in the area (who we saw land and leave very quickly) we had a good amount of time on the ice where Chris took us on a mini hike to some of the waterfalls and pools on the glacier.

It was truly a memorable experience and highly recommend it to everyone.”
